Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. – Isaiah 40:28
Do You Know?
An interesting challenge is to keep a running tally of all the many things you learn about God. Place two columns on a page: one narrow, to accommodate just one word or two, and the other much larger. You might start in Psalms and, as you go through them you’ll see that God is everything from Counselor to Creator, from Shepherd to Strong Tower. Jot those words into the narrow column. At a later time, when you aren’t being influenced in the moment by the theme of the psalmist, write in the second column what those characteristics or attributes mean to you. For example, you may see that God, as a counselor, guides your goals to conform to His or that He understands and helps you to process through your emotional state. As you develop the list over time, review it now and then. While you will not truly understand ALL that He is on this side of Heaven, you will be off to a great start.
